Mr. Carmain was a retired CFO (Chief Financial Officer) for Western Baptist Hospital and was of the Baptist faith.
James is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy Diane Gray Carmain; a daughter, Amy Gilstad (Paul) of Evans, Georgia; a step-daughter, Dana Brown (Barry) of Odenville, Alabama; a step-son, Brent Cherry (Andrea) of Vestavia, Alabama; six step-grandchildren, Reagan Brown, Ethan Brown, Kathy Cherry, Cooper Cherry, Eliora Cherry and Zoe Woodrow; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Leslie L. West, and Theresa A. Baker; a brother, Robert T. Carmain. His parents were, Lester and Anita Mordini Carmain.
There will be no services.
