
Jack H. Oldham, age 90, of Barlow, Kentucky, passed at Life Care Center of LaCenter, Kentucky on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Jack’s career as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Tennessee Valley Authority was marked by his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. He was a proud United States Army Veteran and a member of Barlow Baptist Church. Jack loved Southern Gospel Quartet music. It was not just a hobby but a deep-seated passion. He traveled annually to the National Quartet Convention, immersing himself in the melodies and the company of fellow enthusiasts. Jack’s love for music also found its expression in his local church, where his voice lifted in song and worship. An avid sports fan, Jack’s enthusiasm for the UK Wildcats and the St. Louis Cardinals was infectious. He followed the games, celebrating each victory and analyzing every play. Jack’s love for the outdoors was evident in his fishing trips to Kentucky Lake and fishing in the Barlow Bottoms. Above all, Jack was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He wove humor and love into the fabric of his marriage, creating a tapestry of memories that spoke of his commitment and affection. Jack’s witty remarks and jokes were the heartbeat of his family, often bringing smiles and laughter to any occasion.
Jack Oldham is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Shelby Crews Oldham of Barlow; 3 daughters, Catherine Ann Moore (Dan) of Benton, Kentucky, Debbie Golightly (Vernon) and Robin Lamkin (Wade) of Barlow; son, Bryan Lee Oldham of Paducah, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Oldham of Auburn, Alabama; grandchildren, Rebecca Johnson, Elizabeth Tyrie (Mike), Joni Prince (Tyson) Sara Shoulta (Robert) Cory Golightly (Kimberly), Tiffany Shelton (David), Taylor Kirk (Davis); great- grandchildren, Abby and Caroline Johnson, Ayden Tappan, Jackson Reid, Jackson Abell, Benji and Maddox Prince, Easton and Kinslee Golightly, Hayes and Harleighn Kirk, Lane, Lincoln and Suthern Shelton, Elizabeth and Jameson Tyrie; niece, Leigh Ann Nall (Clint) of Opelika, Alabama; nephew, Mark Oldham (Lynette) of Houston, Texas.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Josh and Lucille Massa Oldham, and a brother, Roy Lee “Pete” Oldham.
Visitation for Jack Oldham will be on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe from 5:00- 8:00 pm.
Funeral services for Mr. Oldham will be held at Barlow Baptist Church at 1:00 pm Sunday, December 8, 2024, with Rev. David Hoard officiating with burial in Barlow Cemetery.
