Gwenn M. Shanks, 75, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at her home on Friday, August 23, 2024.
Mrs. Shanks was born on April 3, 1949, in Doniphan, Missouri to the late Warren T. and Valla Jo Stevenson Carman. She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School and was a 1967 graduate of Gradwhol School of Medical Technology. Gwenn worked as a Medical Technologist for Lourdes Hospital, Dr. Bill Bailey’s office, and at USEC. She was a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ where she was always involved in works of service.
Gwenn is survived by her husband of 57 years, Vernon J. Shanks; four daughters, Laura Braley and her husband, Larry of Silex, Missouri, Sarah Shanks of Paducah, Rachel Gonzalez and her husband, Ben of Paducah and Ellen Kenny and her husband, Eric of Gordonsville, Tennessee; a son, Jacob Shanks and his wife, Ashley of Paducah; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gregory Carman and his wife, Karen of Savannah, Texas and Bradley Carman and his wife, Gail of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Lone Oak Church of Christ with Paul Wingfield officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service hour of 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Lone Oak Church of Christ.
