Judy was born on June 12, 1948, in Paducah, KY at Riverside Hospital to the late Thomas Franklin and Betty Lou McElwayne. Judy was a devoted wife to her husband Donald Clucas for 46 years and was his best friend in life and greatly loved by him.

Judy was preceeded in death by her parent Thomas Franklin McElwayne and Betty Lou McElwayne.

Judy attended Reidland High School and then studied nursing at Paducah Community College. She was a registered nurse for several years at Lourdes Hospital. When Don and Judy retired to Colorado, she used those nursing skills to serve as a Nurse Ski Patrol at Copper Mountain Resort.

Judy, known as Grammy to her grandchildren, loved spending time with them. She enjoyed family gatherings to celebrate birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She liked to bake and sew with them and attend their school programs and sporting events. Judy always looked forward to their annual tradition of building gingerbread houses together before Christmas. She also fostered a love of nature with her beautiful flower gardens and a love of snow skiing while living in Colorado.

Judy’s greatest devotion in life was to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Judy was a faithful member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church. While living in Colorado, Judy and Don attended Rocky Mountain Bible Church.

Prior to their retirement Judy was a member of First Baptist Church of Paducah. She was kind and gracious having a servant’s heart and using her gifts of cooking and decorating to serve her church and those around her. She was a shining example for her children and grandchildren, always pointing them to Christ and being a strong prayer warrior for them. Her favorite Bible verses were John 14:1-6, Jeremiah 29:11, Psalm 51:10-13, and Isaiah 41:10.
