
Michael Von Sims, 85, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on May 26, 2024, at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, Kentucky.
Michael was born to the late Jack and Lynn Simms on November 1, 1938, in Dallas, Texas.
Michael served as a Navy Corpsman and was a proud Veteran. He was stationed worldwide, but his favorite place by far was his assignment in Cuba. After being discharged from the military, Michael returned home and began a career in law enforcement as a police officer in Memphis, Tennessee. He spent 30 years with the Memphis Police Department before retiring and working as a locksmith. Michael enjoyed shooting at the gun range and metal detecting in his free time. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Michael is survived by his wife, Martha Sims of Benton, Kentucky; and two sisters, Karen (Terry), and Emma, both of Garland, Texas.
He was preceded in death by, one brother, Adrian Sims; and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann with Bro. Jim Faughn officiating. Burial will follow at Fairdealing Cemetery.
