Evelyn Champion Koster, age 94, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 4:40 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.   Evelyn was born on May 10, 1929, to the late Willie Robert Graves and Mary Hazel Bellew Graves.  Evelyn was a graduate of Bandana High School in Ballard County and was a member of the Lone Oak First Baptist Church.  Evelyn was a member of the Eastern Star,  attended the Senior Citizen Center, and loved to dance.  Evelyn’s pastimes included listening to Classic Country music, word searches, doing crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles.   She enjoyed her many years of camping in Florida.

Survivors include one daughter, Anita Wood of Paducah, KY; two brothers, Bill (Kay) Graves of Paducah, KY, and Terry (Sandy) Graves of Arizona; four grandchildren, Shelley (Mike) King, Ashleigh Rogers, Kitty (John) Blazer and Zack Thomas; five great-grandchildren, Alex Haddock, Will Rogers, Landon King, Connor Rogers and Lilly Blazer; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death was first husband, L.C. Champion, second husband, Benjamin Galloway, third husband, Wayne Koster; parents, two daughters, Sandi Champion and Sherry Thomas; six sisters, Minnie Rogers, Barbara Curtis, Jane Thomas, Ermon Parker, Sharron Graves and Mary Graves; four brothers, Jack Graves, Ellis Graves, Harley Graves, and Durrard Graves.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with Rev. Bob Martin officiating.  Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.  There will be no public visitation.

Expression of sympathy may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
