Betty L. Falconite, age 91, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, at Gaither Suites. Born on April 22, 1932, Betty was a beacon of love and hospitality throughout her life. As a dedicated housewife and an active member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, she infused warmth and caring into every aspect of her community.
Betty will be remembered for her exceptional Italian cooking, her ability to entertain with grace, and her unique sense of humor that brought smiles to all who knew her. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and took immense pleasure in caring for her family and subtly supporting others in her own special way. Her visits to the beauty shop were among the simple joys she cherished.
Betty is survived by one sister, Mary Vaughn (Gary) of Mounds, Illinois; two grandchildren, Nicki Roof (Kenny) of Paducah and Joe Falconite of Paducah; seven great-grandchildren, Jack Roof, Ellie Roof, Haley Falconite, Cooper Falconite, Michael Falconite, Jonathon Falconite and Camron Falconite; and a special niece, Jennifer Lipert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Falconite; her son, Mike Falconite; her parents, Wayne and Beatrice Oakes; one sister, Martha Ledbetter; and two brothers, Lannes Oakes and Richard Wayne Oakes.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers who helped take such wonderful care of Betty: Barbara Martin, Latta Jackson, Summer Galbreath, Stacey Wade and Arius Brown.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Works of Mercy Chapel at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the 11:00 funeral mass on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Works of Mercy Chapel at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
