
The Eagles of Christian Fellowship closed out their season on Monday in the 4th District Tournament with a 106-59 loss to top seed Murray. They finish with a record of 9-22.
Leading scorer for CFS, Elijah Grigg, led the Eagles with 19 points and Daxton Kite scored 13. Lincoln English led Murray with 27 points, one of 13 in the scoring column for the Tigers. Senior Nate Potter played in his final game for the Eagles and finished with eight points.
Murray forced several CFS turnovers in the opening minutes of the game, converting them into points to jump out to a 21-2 lead. Elijah Grigg stopped the run with a three pointer and they scored nine more points but were unable to defend the flurry of offensive activity by Murray and trailed 36-14 at the end of the first quarter.

A 22-point second quarter for CFS led by Daxton Kite with 11, was outdistanced by Murray with 28 points. Elijah Grigg banked in a three pointer at the buzzer to end the half with the Eagles trailing 64-36.
Murray outscored CFS 42-23 in the second half led by 10 points from English. Elijah Grigg had seven in the half for the Eagles.
Murray will advance to Thursday’s championship game against the winner of tonight’s Marshall County-Calloway County game.
