Mr. James Kyle Davis, 53 of Springfield, TN, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2024, in Murray, KY.
Born May 26, 1970, in Grinnell, IA, he was the son of the late Jerry Davis and Mary (Weber) Davis of Shabbona, IL. James honorably served his country, retiring after 22 years of service in the United States Army. He earned the rank of Sergeant First Class and served in Iraq before his retirement. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in combat.
James will be remembered as a loving husband and father, who especially loved spending time with his son, Alex. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time with his friends, and being out in the country.
James is survived by his wife, Ruth (Gaitan) Davis of Springfield, TN; son, James Alexander “Alex” Davis of Springfield, TN; siblings, Jerry K. (Veronica) Davis of Marana, AZ, Jodi K. (John) Davis of Santa Fe, NM, Jana K. Davis of Marana, AZ, Jay K. Davis of Oregon, IL, Jennifer K. (Nicholas) Gaston of Shabbona, IL, and John K. Davis of Elburn, IL. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and nephew, Michael Curtis Gaston.
A service celebrating the life of James Kyle Davis, and honoring his military service, will take place at a later date.
