Mr. Joesph R. “Joe” Hargrove, 75 of Murray, KY, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at his home.

Born October 23, 1948, in Fort Knox, KY, he was the son of the late James Rayburn Hargrove and Helen Elizabeth (Berkley) Hargrove. Joe honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. Following his retirement from the military, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education, eventually working as a dispatcher with the Murray State University office of public safety. Joe was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Murray, KY.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Deborah Pemwell of Murray, KY; a sister, Sandy Pepper of Ft. Leavenworth, KS; grandchildren, Jessica Webb, Michaela Misner, Olivia Pemwell, and Charles Pemwell all of Murray, KY; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Webb, Ashlyn Webb, Sophia Sullivan, Layla Rudolph, Ruby Misner, Millie Misner, Arabella Webb, and Liam Misner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 55 years, Ruby Carolyn Hargrove; son, Charles Frederick Hargrove; brother, Charles Edward Hargrove; and son-in-law, Derek Pemwell.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 5, 2024, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 South 4th Street, Murray, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, with Rev. Stephen Webb officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow the service in the Murray Memorial Gardens, Murray, KY.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Murray Calloway County Senior Citizens Center, 607 Poplar St. Murray, KY 42071.
