On September 25, 2023, McCracken County Sheriff’s detectives received a complaint alleging that a large amount of money had been stolen from a local non-profit. Members of the non-profit reported that they suspected 54-year-old Christie Bell of Paducah had stolen approximately $6000.
Through investigation, it was learned that Christie Bell had made numerous cash withdrawals totaling $6,255 between April and September of 2023. The money wasn’t used for non-profit business, instead was used to purchase illicit drugs.
On October 26, 2023 Christie Bell was arrested and charged with one count of Theft by Unlawful taking Over $1000.
