
Elwanda Ford Earnhart, age 99, of Mounds, Illinois, formerly of Bardwell, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Liberty Village Nursing Home in Jerseyville, Illinois.
Elwanda was born in Bardwell on October 21, 1924, to the late Luby and Virginia Allen Ford. She was a member of Mounds First Baptist Church. Elwanda married her husband and the love of her life, Floyd Thomas Earnhart, on December 24, 1941. She was an incredible cook and was well-known by family and friends for her delicious breakfast meals. Elwanda also enjoyed quilting and canning fresh vegetables from her garden. She loved her family deeply, most importantly her children, grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Penny.
Elwanda is survived by her two sons, Harold Thomas (Linda) Earnhart of Bethalto, Illinois, and Gary Gene (Cindy Malley) Earnhart of Mounds, Illinois; four grandchildren, David Earnhart, Michael Earnhart, Diana (Lindsey) Bruno, and Stephen Earnhart; seven great-grandchildren and her nieces, Wanda Hoskins and Sharon Cargill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thomas Earnhart; her sister, Juanita Cargill; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Pastor Mike Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the service time of 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the funeral home.
