
Frank Aaron “F.A.” Carter, age 92, of Arlington, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Clinton-Hickman County ICF.
Mr. Carter was born in Arlington on October 2, 1930, to the late General Bonnie and Alta Long Carter, but lived all of his younger years in Burkley, Kentucky. He loved the Burkley Bottoms and spent much of his time there. Mr. Carter retired from Garan Manufacturing of Clinton after thirty years of employment. He loved sports growing up and played baseball for Burkley High School and Bardwell High School. Mr. Carter was also a passionate hunter and fisherman. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the Army where he earned a Purple Heart and two bronze stars and was an active member of the VFW Post 409.
F.A. is survived by his wife, Betty Featherstone Carter of Arlington; his sister-in-law, Ann Carter; two step-daughters, Alleta Edging of Paducah and Vickie (Dennis) Gourley of Lone Oak; two step-sons, Bill (Sherri) Hall of Arlington and David (Lisa) Byrum of Bardwell; eight grandchildren, Holly Edging of Paducah, Melissa Henry of Paducah, Sabrina Byrum of Paducah, Sara Crowder of Paducah, Mandy Gruber of Arlington, Chase Byrum of Paducah, Blake Byrum of Paducah, and Jay Hall of Arlington; twelve great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one niece Dana (Bradley) Polivick; three nephews, Gary (Carol) Carter Denver Carter, and Charles (Penny) Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jeanine Hall Carter; and his three brothers, G.B. Carter, Charles Carter, and Ollie Carter.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Burkley Cemetery with Bro. Tony Johnson officiating. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no public visitation.
