Lady Marshals 2nd, Marshals 4th at Bowling Green Invitational

Marshall County golf teams played on Saturday in the Bowling Green Invitational at Bowling Green Country Club.

Katie Roberts who tied for first with Keira Yun of Sacred Heart Academy, both finished their round with an even par 72. Yun took the win in a playoff. The Lady Marshals finished second with a team score of 321, 11 strokes behind first place Sacred Heart Academy.

Team scores behind Roberts 72 included Trinity Beth who finished third with a 2-over par 74, Skylar Waller shot 82, CeCelia Ray shot 93 and Brooklyn Cunningham 99.

DJ Morris shot an even-par 72 to finish tied for fifth to lead the Marshals to a fourth place finish. Team scores also included Ryan Stokes who tied for eighth with a 1-over par 73, Nolan Hurst shot 81, Paxton Carter shot 83 and Andy Jones 85.

Both teams will head to Lexington this weekend to play in the KGCA All-State Tournament.

Greenwood’s Jacob Lang won medalist honors with a 4-under par 68.

Ryan Stokes, lining up his putt at the Marshall County Invitational, shot a 1- over par 73 to finish tied for eighth at Saturday’s Bowling Green Invitational.
