ELLINGTON, Mary Geneva (Hite), 99, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023.
Geneva was born to the late Gertrude (Carrico) and William H. Hite in Bardwell, KY, and worked as a bank teller for the old Citizens Fidelity Bank. She was a member of Moose Lodge 5 and St. Bernard Catholic Church. Geneva loved playing cards and visiting “The Boat”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ellington; second husband, James Owens; granddaughter, Lisa Burns; brothers, Melvin, Lucian, Thomas, and Edward Hite; and sisters, Francis Lois Thomas, Cordelia Wurth, and Ruby Keller.
Geneva is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Turner and Pam Smith; grandchildren, David Meredith, Brandi Fitzsimmons, and Kyle Smith; and great grandchildren, Kade Meredith, Madison Burns, Mason Burns, Conner Fitzsimmons, KyLee Smith, Karmann Smith, Cody Fitzsimmons, and Lane Smith.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home – Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Road.
Visitation will also be held from 1:00 pm until the 3:00 pm service time on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes, 3745 Old US Hwy 45 South, Paducah, KY.
Funeral services for Geneva will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
