Mercedeys Ruth Culligan, 18, of Calvert City, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
Mercedeys was born in Marion, Illinois on February 16, 2005 to Michael Culligan, Jr. and Mary Emery Culligan. She graduated from Marshall Co. High School class of 2023 and worked as a cashier at Dairy Queen where she took great pride in her work and loved her coworkers like family. From a young age, she was a driven child and hard worker. Mercedeys was your average teenage girl who loved listening to music, shopping on the internet and hanging out with friends.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Culligan of Nashville, TN; her father, Michael Culligan (Kristina Irby) of Calvert City; two sisters, Alexis Culligan of Calvert City and Lakyln Kaufman of Paducah; one brother, Carson Gee (Karla Gunter) of Marion, IL; her grandmother, Debra Mathis of Paducah; aunts, Theresa Johnson (Allyn) of Sharpe and Michelle Culligan of Marion, IL; niece, Emberlynn Gee and several cousins in Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Helen Emery; grandfather, Michael Culligan, Sr.; and uncle, Christopher Emery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
A Memorial Fund has been set up in Mercedeys Culligan’s name at all CFSB Banking locations.
