DRAFFENVILLE – Collin Travis signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday at Marshall County High School to play football for Murray State University.
Collin joined the Marshall County football program this fall for his first ever season of high school football. His presence made an immediate impact this season by catching a touchdown pass in his first varsity contest against Calloway County.
During the season, Collin continued to grow as a player becoming a valuable blocking tight end and dependable target as a receiver by catching 15 passes for an average of 17.8 yards per reception.
By the conclusion of the season, Collin had gained the attention of numerous OVC schools and chose Murray State to continue his playing career.
Collin is also a stand-out basketball player for the Marshals and enjoyed the chance to play football this past season saying he is “excited and ready to go.”
“They have a great recruiting class coming in”, Travis said. Going on to say he plans to bring hard work and determination to the Racer program.
Collin will play for first year Head Coach Mitch Stewart who replaced Chris Hatcher who took the head coach position with Samford, in December. Steward has been on the Racer staff for the past five seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.
Murray State signed 25 student-athletes Wednesday on National Signing Day.
