Helen Louis House, age 96, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 5:49 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Calvert City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City, Kentucky. She was born on June 5, 1926 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Cecil Wasson and Helen Parks Wasson. Louise was a retired secretary for the Department of Corrections for the state of Illinois, the Illinois State Training School for boys in St. Charles, Illinois and she managed Stella’s Dress Shop in Geneva, Illinois. She was a beloved Christian and member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church and was a member of the Baptist Health Auxiliary. Louise enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was well loved by all who met her with her contagious smile, humor and laughter even in her last few years. She was every caregiver’s favorite patient
She was united in marriage to Riley Miles and after his death, to her second husband, Robert House, who preceded her in death, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Kay McCully; grandson, Jeffrey Joe McCully and her brother, Mack Wasson.
Louise is survived by her niece, Sandy David and husband, Bruce David of Benton, Kentucky; niece, Nancy Linari of North Hollywood, California; a nephew, Ronald Shepherd, and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Boogie Butler officiating. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
