Late game surge lifts Lady Marshals over Union County

A big game from Georgia Hall with 20 points and 20 rebounds lifts Lady Marshals over Union County in their final regular season game.

The Lady Marshals hosted Union County on Thursday and finished off their final regular season with a 57-54 win over the Bravettes. They head into postseason play with a record of 15-14 and an unblemished 6-0 district record. With the tournament’s #1 seed, the Lady Marshals will meet Murray in the semifinals on Monday at 6:00 at Marshall County High School.

Lady Marshals senior Georgia Hall had a big night in the win over Union County. She led the team in scoring with 20 points and pulled in 20 rebounds.

The Lady Marshals trailed 16-11 at the end of the first quarter and 39-34 at halftime. Trailing by nine in the third quarter, they tied the game up at 51 with just over a minute to play. Two straight baskets from Hall put them up 55-51 and with 25 seconds left in the game a three-pointer from the Bravettes cut it back to one.  Mia Teague finished out the 57-54 win at the line hitting both free throws.
