Bill Elkins

billelkinsBill Elkins, 75, of Hardin, Kentucky passed away at 9:56PM on Monday December 28, 2015 at the Marshall County Hospital Emergency Room.

Bill was a retired from the United States Navy as a First Class Petty Officer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F & AM in Memphis, Tennessee and the Al Chymia Shrine. Bill was a retired United Methodist minister and was a member of the Dexter-Hardin United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Madonna Nash Elkins of Hardin, KY; one daughter, Melissa Vinson of Dixon, TN; three sons, William Elkins of Dexter, KY, Robert Elkins of Aurora, KY and Gabriel Elkins of Georgetown, TX; one brother, Robert Dale Elkins of Lexington, KY; twelve grandchildren, Kayla Powell, Stephanie Henson, Gabriel Fowler, Eli Fowler, Sarah Vinson, Travis Elkins, Abby Elkins, Forte Elkins, Alexandra Belcher, Kurt Vinson, Tizziana Elkins-Sivitilli and Tony Elkins; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dawn Denise Elkins; and one son, Keith Elkins. His parents were Forte Elkins and Ica Mai Griffin Elkins.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Dexter-Hardin United Methodist Church. Rev. Richard Burkeen will officiate and burial will follow in the Union Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Dexter-Hardin United Methodist Church and again from 10:00AM until the funeral hour on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Soup For The Soul, P.O. Box 1001, Murray, Kentucky 42071.
