Shirley Marie Smith, age 87, of Murray, KY formerly of Mayfield, KY passed away Saturday October 15, 2022 at Spring Creek Nursing and Rehab in Murray.
She was a long time member of Glendale Road Church of Christ, a member of the Murray Art Guild and Murray Bridge Club. Shirley retired as a cook working for Westview Nursing Home and Food Giant. She enjoyed making birthday cards for loved ones.
Shirley is survived by three sons, David (Lynn) Crider of Hopkinsville, KY, Frankie (Rebecca) Crider of Paducah, KY, and Bennie (Peggy) Smith of Mayfield, KY; one daughter, Nancy Smith (Larry) Tynes of Sedalia, KY; two sisters, Jean Lamb (Jerry) Hale of Mayfield, KY, and Rita Lamb (Ray) Cummings of Murray, KY; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ben Smith; sister, Faye Lamb (Ronnie) Anderson; parents were Leroy and Vela Lamb.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday October 18, 2022 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Michael Crider, Colton Crider, Ethan Guthrie, Jarred Reesor, Matt Hale, Ronnie Anderson, and Ray Cummings will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday October 17, 2022 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
