Lou Etta Sweet, 93, of Arlington, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Lou was born in Burkley on December 14, 1928 to the late Carl and Oma (Thomason) Anderson. She was a seamstress for 32 years at Curley Clothing Manufacturer in Mayfield. Lou also worked 12 years for Service Master at West Vaco in Wickliffe, 10 years for Countryside Health Care Nursing Home in Bardwell and 20 years for Watkins Products Distributer. If she wasn’t hard at work, she enjoyed spending time fishing and gardening. Lou was a fantastic cook and baker for her family and friends. She was a member of the Meeting House in Columbus, Kentucky.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Sweet of Arlington; one sister, Peggy Nieschlag of Metamora, Illinois; two brothers, James Anderson, wife, Kay and Amous Anderson, wife, Jane all of Paducah; four sister-in-laws, Jane Anderson of Benton, Sharon Anderson of Murray, Ruth Anderson of Columbus, Ann Anderson of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Sweet; four brothers, Gordon Anderson, Buford Anderson, Clay Anderson, Danny Anderson; and her parents.
A memorial service for Lou will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM service time on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
