(PADUCAH, Ky.) — A Paducah man is behind bars after a weeks-long narcotics investigation by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office Drug Division culminated in his arrest this week.
Detectives began investigating the suspect on August 12, using a cooperating source to make controlled purchases of suspected drugs directly from him. Over the course of the investigation, authorities obtained roughly 26 grams of suspected methamphetamine and several oxycodone pills through those buys. None of that product was recovered when a search warrant was later carried out — it had already changed hands during the controlled purchases.
On August 24, detectives moved in, arresting the suspect during a traffic stop as he left his camper on Shemwell Lane. They then executed a search warrant at the camper, turning up a small amount of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The investigation also cleared two outstanding warrants tied to earlier buys — one from August 12 involving oxycodone trafficking, and another from August 20 involving methamphetamine trafficking.
The suspect was identified as Jesse Bealmear, 46, of Paducah.
Bealmear faces the following charges:
- Trafficking in Methamphetamine, over two grams
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Failure to Notify the Department of Transportation of an Address Change
He was also booked on two outstanding warrants: Trafficking in a First-Degree Controlled Substance (Oxycodone), stemming from the August 12 investigation, and Trafficking in a First-Degree Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine, less than two grams), stemming from the August 20 investigation.
Bealmear was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
