(EDDYVILLE, Ky.) — Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reported multiple arrests, a storm-related crash and other incidents during the week of July 26-31, according to a media release from the sheriff’s office.
Repeat trafficking suspect arrested, later served warrant
On July 26 around 2:45 p.m., Sheriff White stopped a vehicle on KY 810 South at Chestnut Oak Road and recognized a passenger, Michael W. Reed, 47, of Paducah, as someone barred from Lyon County under bond conditions tied to a pending felony drug charge in Lyon Circuit Court. A search turned up more than 8 grams of methamphetamine, plastic baggies, digital scales, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
Reed was arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (second or subsequent offense, more than 2 grams of methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia buy/possession, and contempt of court for resisting a court order. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
At the time of his arrest, Reed was on parole for a 20-year felony conviction out of Lyon Circuit Court on multiple methamphetamine trafficking offenses. He has five prior convictions for first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine and eight prior convictions for trafficking marijuana, and was also free on a cash bond tied to a separate first-degree possession of a controlled substance indictment.
On July 31 at 7:05 a.m., Sheriff White served Reed with a Lyon Circuit Court bench warrant charging him with contempt of court in a separate criminal case. Reed remains in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
Fallen tree causes injury crash
Sheriff White was dispatched to KY 3171 around 4:10 a.m. on July 27 for a single-vehicle crash with injuries. His investigation found that a severe storm had knocked a large oak tree across the roadway, which the driver of a 2015 Chrysler 200, Cody S. Bolk, 34, of Marion, did not see in time to avoid. Bolk was injured and transported by Lyon County EMS to an area hospital. The Eddyville Fire Department, Lyon County EMS and a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet highway crew assisted at the scene.
Two DUI arrests
On July 30 around 3:45 p.m., Sheriff White responded to a reckless driver complaint first reported on KY 293 near I-24. He located the vehicle on US 62 in Kuttawa, where it stopped in a parking lot off Days Inn Drive. Following a roadside investigation, White arrested Randal L. Heathcott, 57, of Eddyville, and charged him with failure to wear a seat belt and DUI, second offense with an aggravating circumstance. Heathcott was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
Late on July 31, around 10:50 p.m., Deputies Josh Travis and Luke Fraley were dispatched to a complaint on Wilderness Road. While en route, dispatch received a report that the person involved had fled in a silver 2017 GMC Terrain. Deputy Fraley located the vehicle in Kuttawa and conducted a traffic stop at the Huck’s Travel Center. The driver, Rebecca S. Watkins, 40, of Boaz, was arrested following a roadside investigation and charged with DUI, second offense with an aggravating circumstance. She was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
Hitchhiker arrested on outside warrant, reunited with dogs
Just before 8 a.m. on July 31, Sheriff White responded to a hitchhiking complaint on US 62 at I-24 in Kuttawa and identified the hitchhiker as Thomas E. Tenhundfeld, 30, of Cincinnati, Ohio. White determined Tenhundfeld had an active warrant out of Boone District Court and arrested him. Lyon County Animal Control Officer Elizabeth Porter was dispatched to secure Tenhundfeld’s two dogs. Tenhundfeld later posted a cash bond, was released, and was reunited with his animals.

Just before noon on July 31, deputies charged Amber W. Schwable, 44, of Campton, with a Wolfe Circuit Court indictment warrant alleging second-offense trafficking in a controlled substance involving carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives. Schwable is awaiting extradition to Wolfe County.
