(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) (July 28, 2026) — Westlake Corporation has awarded scholarships to 15 students of its Calvert City employees, continuing the global manufacturer’s long-standing commitment to supporting higher education for the children of its workforce.
Westlake, which produces essential materials used in housing, construction, packaging and healthcare, has recognized top college-bound students of its employees for more than 30 years. Company officials said this year’s applicant pool was especially strong, with a high volume of submissions of outstanding quality.
The scholarship program provides financial support for up to four years of undergraduate study. Westlake officials said the award is designed to lift up well-rounded students who demonstrate both academic achievement and a broader commitment to personal growth.
Katy Theroux, Westlake’s chief human resources officer, said research shows that students with diverse interests and balanced backgrounds tend to be better prepared to succeed both personally and professionally.
“The Westlake Dependent Scholarship Program gives us the opportunity to recognize students who not only value education, but also have interests outside the classroom, whether it’s volunteering for a worthy cause, engaging in civic programs, participating in youth sports, or enjoying activities with family and friends,” Theroux said. “We congratulate this year’s recipients and are proud to invest in their future.”
