(MURRAY, Ky.) — A Murray man is facing a felony theft charge after deputies say he kept a package that was mistakenly delivered to his address on Lone Circle.

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Lone Circle around 9 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report of stolen mail. Investigators determined that a package had been delivered to a different address on Lone Circle, and the resident there knowingly kept the item, depriving the rightful owner of the property.

Van Lawson, 37, of Murray, was arrested and lodged at the Calloway County Detention Facility on a charge of theft of mail matter, a Class D felony.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who witnesses unusual or possible criminal activity to call 270-753-3151 or email ccso.office@callkyso.com.
