(BEREA, Ky.)-Marshall County’s clay target program cemented its place among Kentucky’s elite last weekend, capturing first place overall at the Kentucky Clay Target League State Competition for the fourth consecutive year. The Marshals also claimed second place in the Spring League Trap Team Division 4, Class 1A standings — all at the Central Kentucky Gun Club.
Leading the charge was Reed Spiceland, who earned High Gun Varsity Male honors and was named Overall High Gun after shooting a perfect 100/100 in a shoot-off to claim the title.
Kendal Story took High Gun Novice Female, while Easton Groves finished second in both High Gun JV Male and High Gun JV Overall — and broke his first 25 straight in the process. Henley Frizzell claimed High Gun JV Female and finished third in High Gun JV Overall.
On the All-State front, Wiley English earned a spot on the 2026 Spring Season All-State Team with a 23.8 season average, and Hunter Frizzell joined him with a 23.5 average.
The day also featured a string of personal milestones. Jace Jones and Layne Bullock each broke their first 25 straight, joining Groves in reaching that mark. Landon Copeland topped them all, recording his first 50 straight. Anna Grace English rounded out Marshall County’s honors by claiming Class 1A Division 4 High Overall Female.
