Paducah Woman Arrested on Drug, Impaired Driving Charges After Benton Traffic Stop

(BENTON, Ky.) — A Paducah woman was arrested Wednesday evening after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle, according to the Benton Police Department.

Officer Peyton Jackson initiated the stop around 6:58 p.m. on Poplar Street after observing a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Shannon Renee Earle, 49, of Paducah.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located a quantity of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia. Earle reportedly admitted to using methamphetamine and marijuana shortly before getting behind the wheel and displayed multiple signs of impairment, according to police.

Earle was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Detention Center.

Sergeant Cole assisted Officer Jackson on scene.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
