(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) — Marshall County Schools has selected Amanda Melton as the next principal of Calvert City Elementary School, the district announced.

Melton, a Murray native, holds three degrees from Murray State University: a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in reading and writing, and a second master’s in educational administration.

She launched her career in Christian County, where she progressed through roles as a classroom teacher, curriculum specialist, and assistant principal. Most recently, she served with the Kentucky Department of Education as a state literacy coaching specialist, working alongside schools to strengthen classroom instruction and improve student outcomes.

“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as principal of Calvert City Elementary School,” Melton said. “I am excited to be part of such a strong and supportive community and to continue the great work already happening in the school. I look forward to building relationships with students, staff, and families, and to being actively involved in all aspects of school life as we continue to support student success together.”

Melton is set to assume the role on July 1.
