Susie Story, 85, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.

Susie was a Canadian Native who was born on April 28, 1940, to the late Kenneth Brien and Myrtle Wall Loucks. She spent many years working as a nursing home administrator for both Superior Care and Oakview Nursing Home. Having been blessed with a kind heart and friendly personality, she had a natural gift for connecting with others. No matter where she went, she could always be found mingling and conversing with others.  Her love of helping others led her to enjoy the time she spent helping run the BBQ stand for Friends & Kin Charity at Barbecue on the River. She also enjoyed attending the Calgary Stampede, a 10-day rodeo and exhibition held in Canada. Susie always kept herself occupied. When she wasn’t busy making friends with everyone she encountered, you could find her enjoying golfing, curling, or bowling to fill her time.

She is survived by her son, Clay Story; one sister-in-law, Denise Story; five nieces, Tamela Haley (James) of Possum Trot, Rhonda Oldham (Roger)of Princeton, Kentucky, Erin Story (Scott) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida Karen Loucks and Marie Loucks; One nephew, Adam Story (Meredith) of Possum Trot; one great niece, Kaylin Oldham; and two great nephews, Nick Oldham (Sara) and Samuel Story.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 40 years, Joe Edd Story; one brother, Brien Loucks; and her parents, Kenneth Brien and Myrtle Walls Loucks.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Fooks Cemetery with Bro. Joel Frizzell officiating.
