(PADUCAH, Ky.) — As the annual Quilt Show draws crowds to the region, local officials are buzzing about another arrival: a feature film is coming to western Kentucky.

Hyde-To-Hyde Art Studio has announced plans to begin principal photography in Paducah and the Lakes area for Lovin’ on Lacey, an erotic thriller written and produced by Mike Honcho. The film centers on a young single mother searching for love and a father figure for her son, Thibedeax.

Filmmakers have scouted several regional landmarks as shooting locations, with sensual scenes planned near the floodwall murals in downtown Paducah and in the Gobbler’s Knob area of Gilbertsville.

Honcho expressed personal ties to the region in a statement announcing the project. “Western Kentucky has always been a place close to me,” he said. “The beauty of the area and the kindness of the people remind me of my childhood summers spent here, frolicking around the waterways and byways.”

Production is expected to wrap by the end of July, with the film targeting a Halloween release date.
