(BENTON, Ky.)-A section of KY 1477 in Marshall County will shut down Wednesday as crews prepare to replace an aging culvert, leaving roughly 600 daily drivers to find alternate routes.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced the closure of KY 1477 — locally known as Dump Road or Benton Briensburg Road — near mile point 0.4, between KY 1462/Benton-Birmingham Road and Refuse Road. Work is set to begin April 1, weather permitting.
The closure is needed to replace a culvert over Egners Branch and is expected to last approximately six weeks. No detour will be marked; motorists are asked to find their own alternate routes.
Around 618 vehicles use that stretch of road on an average day. No completion date has been guaranteed, as the timeline remains subject to weather conditions.
