
(BENTON, Ky.) — The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has reported more than 40 arrests spanning from late February through mid-March 2026, with charges ranging from routine traffic violations and failure-to-appear warrants to serious felonies including arson, assault, and child sexual abuse.
Most Serious Offenses
Among the gravest cases reported, Dustin Scott, 37, of Bowling Green was arrested March 20 on an indictment warrant for first-degree sexual abuse of a child under 12. In a separate case involving a child victim, Jeremy Cummins, 40, of Benton was arrested March 2 during a traffic stop on Needmore Road. Deputies discovered he had an outstanding warrant for first-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12, and a search of his person revealed a bag of methamphetamine, resulting in additional drug and paraphernalia charges.
Derek Davis, 42, of Benton was arrested March 14 on an indictment warrant out of Calloway Circuit Court for second-degree arson.
Brandon Cox, 44, of Benton was arrested February 16 on an indictment warrant for knowingly exploiting an adult, along with a persistent felony offender charge. Guy Simpson, 59, of Hardin was arrested the same day on charges of first-degree methamphetamine trafficking and related drug offenses out of Marshall Circuit Court.
Drug-Related Arrests
Drug charges were among the most frequently reported offenses during the period.
Samuel Brackett, 33, of Benton faced one of the longest charge sheets of any individual arrested during the period. Taken into custody March 13, Brackett was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, DUI fourth offense or greater, persistent felony offender, four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, no insurance, second-degree criminal mischief, improper registration plates, and reckless driving. He was additionally served a second indictment warrant for first-degree assault, first-degree fleeing and evading police, and first-degree criminal mischief.
Justin Harper, 47, of Benton was served an indictment warrant March 13 for first-degree possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, and second-degree persistent felony offender. Anthony Regan, 58, of Hardin was arrested the same day on charges of first-degree methamphetamine possession, drug paraphernalia, and first-degree persistent felony offender. Regan had also been arrested March 3 on a bench warrant out of Marshall Circuit Court for failure to appear.
Seth Culp, 40, of Benton was arrested March 10 on a probation violation bench warrant. His case also included charges stemming from a February 15 traffic stop, when deputies observed him operating a vehicle with expired registration. He was subsequently charged with DUI fourth offense or greater, driving on a DUI-suspended license second offense, no insurance, no registration, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage.
Impaired Driving
Impaired and suspended-license driving cases made up a significant portion of the arrest log.
Shawn Richardson, 30, of Princeton was arrested and served an indictment warrant March 13 at the Marshall County Jail for operating a vehicle under the influence, no registration plates, no registration receipt, operating without a functioning interlock device, driving on a DUI-suspended license, and first-degree wanton endangerment.
Anthony Davis, 28, of Benton was arrested March 13 on an indictment warrant for speeding 26 miles per hour over the limit, careless driving, first-degree fleeing and evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, operating on a suspended or revoked license, and no seatbelt.
Ryan Conrad, 37, of Hardin was arrested March 6 after deputies responded to a vehicle accident and found him under the influence. He was charged with first-degree aggravated DUI and no insurance.
Devan Smith, 21, of Gilbertsville was arrested March 4 after the vehicle he was operating was involved in a collision on Scale Road. Smith was treated and released at Marshall County Hospital before being taken into custody and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence. He had also been arrested March 11 on a separate failure-to-appear warrant out of Caldwell County District Court.
Billy Vick, 51, of Hardin was arrested March 5 after deputies stopped him on US 68. He was charged with driving on a DUI-suspended license, possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, no insurance, improper display, no registration receipt, and no license in possession.
Dylan Emmons, 24, of Grand Rivers was arrested February 21 after a traffic stop on EM Hurley in Marshall County. He was charged with operating on a DUI-suspended license second offense, no registration plates, and no insurance.
John Dukes, 22, of Benton was arrested February 26 after a traffic stop on West 12th Street. He was charged with operating on a suspended or revoked license, no insurance, and other traffic offenses.
Jared Mallory, 42, of Benton was arrested March 9 after deputies stopped the vehicle he was driving on Commerce Boulevard and found he had a suspended license.
Sherri Adair, 52, of Murray was arrested February 20 after being stopped on US 641 South in Marshall County and charged with operating on a suspended license and failure to surrender a revoked license.
Domestic and Protective Order Violations
Several arrests stemmed from domestic-related charges and violations of court-issued protective orders.
Matthew Johnson, 32, of Calvert City was arrested March 14 for violation of a Kentucky Emergency Protective Order and was also served a criminal complaint warrant out of McCracken County.
David Dugger, 61, of Kirksey was arrested February 28 and charged with violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO. Dugger had also been arrested March 13 on a bench warrant out of Calloway Circuit Court for a separate probation violation.
Matthew Ingram, 31, of Paducah was arrested February 24 on a criminal complaint warrant out of McCracken District Court for violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO.
Karen Clark, 53, of Calvert City was arrested February 27 on a criminal complaint warrant out of Marshall District Court for fourth-degree assault.
John Davenport, 39, of Benton was arrested twice within two days. On March 16, he was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant out of Calloway County for harassment with physical contact. On March 14, he had been arrested on a separate indictment warrant out of Marshall Circuit Court for flagrant non-support.
Burglary, Trespass, and Fleeing Deputies
Isiah Howard, 27, of Gilbertsville was arrested March 13 after deputies responded to a disturbance on Justin Lane. Howard had allegedly been attempting to break into a residence and damaging property. Deputies located him face-down in a wooded area and placed him under arrest, charging him with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication.
Kyle Ross, 36, of Benton was arrested March 2 after deputies responded to reports of a male entering and yelling at residents in one home before proceeding to enter a second residence without permission. Ross was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal trespass.
Dylan Anderson, 36, of Hamilton, Virginia was arrested March 3 after deputies responded to assist Benton Police Department with a report of a subject attempting to cash a fraudulent check at a local bank. When deputies attempted to detain Anderson, he fled on foot. After a short pursuit, he was taken into custody. Benton Police Department is carrying the fraud charges.
Bench Warrants, Probation Violations, and Failure to Appear
A substantial number of arrests during the period involved individuals taken into custody on outstanding bench warrants, probation violations, or failure-to-appear charges across multiple Kentucky counties.
Billy Doane, 61, of Gilbertsville was arrested March 17 on a bench warrant out of Marshall District Court for failure to appear and was also served a Marshall Circuit Court warrant for probation violation.
Christopher Cowart, 48, of Calvert City was arrested March 13 on a bench warrant out of Marshall Circuit Court for probation violation.
Ethan Hicks, 30, of Calvert City was arrested March 10 on a bench warrant out of McCracken District Court for failure to appear.
Shane Thompson, 42, of Hardin was arrested March 10 on a bench warrant out of Marshall Circuit Court for failure to appear.
Tyler Smith, 29, of Gilbertsville was arrested March 1 and served a bench warrant out of Marshall Circuit Court for probation violation.
Zachary Apperson, 32, of Smithland was arrested twice during the period. On March 4, he was taken into custody on a bench warrant out of Livingston Circuit Court for probation violation. On February 20, he had been arrested on a criminal complaint warrant out of Marshall District Court for theft by unlawful taking.
Melissa Louati, 39, of Benton was arrested February 27 on a bench warrant out of Marshall District Court for failure to appear.
Anthony Whitfield, 61, of Gilbertsville was arrested February 27 on a bench warrant out of Scott County for failure to appear.
Erin Smith, 19, of Puryear, Tennessee was arrested March 6 on a bench warrant out of Marshall County Court for failure to appear.
