Drug Arrests Follow Warrant Service in Saratoga

A routine warrant service on the afternoon of Sunday, March 15, led to two drug-related arrests at a Saratoga residence. Deputy Bobby Beeler arrested Caleb M. Wellborn, 30, of Eddyville, on a Lyon District Court bench warrant for failure to appear.

While at the scene, Sheriff Brent White recognized a second individual — Michael W. Reed, 47, of Calvert City — as someone on parole for a prior methamphetamine trafficking conviction in Lyon County. Probation and Parole officers were notified after it was determined Reed had violated his parole conditions by associating with a convicted felon.

A subsequent search of a vehicle at the location turned up marijuana, methamphetamine, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia. Reed was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance – 1st Degree (2nd Offense), Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia Possession. Both Wellborn and Reed were lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

Juvenile Charged After Unprovoked School Attack

On Monday, March 16, School Resource Officer Deputy Jason Young was alerted to a disturbance in a lobby area of the high school. Investigation revealed that a 14-year-old male student had attacked another student without provocation, which triggered a follow-up altercation involving the victim. Surveillance footage captured both incidents. The juvenile was charged with Assault – 4th Degree, removed from school, and released into a parent’s custody.

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges and Warrant Arrest

Later that same Monday evening, at approximately 7:48 p.m., Deputy Beeler spotted a vehicle on Chestnut Oak Road whose driver was wanted on an active arrest warrant. A traffic stop near Green Road resulted in the arrest of Tonya M. Breaux, 65, of Kuttawa, on a Lyon Circuit Court bench warrant for probation violation stemming from a felony offense. Breaux was additionally charged with Failure to Wear a Seat Belt, Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia Possession. She was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

Eddyville Man Accused of Passing Counterfeit Bills at Local Businesses

On the morning of Wednesday, March 18, deputies served a complaint warrant on Brandon S. Ausherman, 35, of Eddyville, charging him with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument – 1st Degree and Theft by Deception, including cold checks. Ausherman is accused of passing counterfeit currency at businesses in Kuttawa and faces similar charges in Christian County. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

Two Warrant Arrests Made on Unpaid Court Costs

Also on March 18, around 12:22 p.m., deputies served a Warren District Court bench warrant on Jessie A. Pytko, 37, of Bowling Green, for non-payment of court costs, fees, or fines. Pytko faces extradition back to Warren County.

The following morning, on Thursday, March 19, Deputy Josh Travis served a Lyon District Court bench warrant on Justice M. Cordova, 31, of Salem, on the same charge of non-payment of court costs, fees, or fines. Cordova was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
