(BENTON, Ky.) — The Marshall County Fiscal Court will hold its regular meeting Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. to take up a packed agenda that includes second readings of two ordinances, a bid award, and several new business items.
Jailer Roger Ford is expected to appear before the court to present his department’s budget during the guest portion of the meeting.
Magistrates will consider final approval of two ordinances on second reading — one amending the county’s administrative code and another addressing a budget amendment. The court is also set to act on a bid for the Buckhorn Bay boat dock.
Under new business, the court will take up a policy regarding pinwheel planting at the Judicial Building, a matter connected to child abuse awareness efforts, as well as a proposal to establish an office in the Judicial Building for a Senate Bill 90 case navigator — a position tied to the state’s criminal justice reform efforts.
Additional items on the agenda include surplus property declarations for the Fiscal Court, Sheriff’s Office, and Animal Shelter; advertising for bids on sheriff’s vehicles and annual county contracts; and a resolution related to a scenic byway designation.
The court will also consider new hires in the parks, dispatch, and road departments, along with board appointments, a speed limit matter on Toy York Road, and a possible rescheduling of a future Fiscal Court meeting.
The session will conclude with the treasurer’s report, bill payments, transfers, and an executive session to discuss litigation and personnel matters.
