(CORALVILLE, Iowa) — The Murray State Racers women’s basketball team tips off postseason play Friday at Noon CT when they square off against Indiana State in the opening round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament at Xtreme Arena powered by Mediacom.
The meeting marks the third time this season the Missouri Valley Conference Champion Racers have faced the Sycamores — and Murray State has left little doubt in the previous two matchups.
The 28-3 Blue and Gold, ranked No. 1 among mid-majors by CollegeInsider.com, dominated Indiana State 114-78 on February 2nd in Terre Haute, then turned around and topped the Sycamores 115-67 on February 26th in Murray. Both victories stand as the highest-scoring regular season outputs for Murray State this season.
Indiana State (10-21) enters Friday’s contest on a modest wave of momentum after dispatching Southern Illinois 81-69 in Thursday’s first round, but the Sycamores face a much stiffer test in the Racers, who have outscored them by a combined 104 points across their two regular season meetings.
