(MURRAY, Ky.)-Several Marshall County High School students took home honors last Sunday at the Kentucky Art Education Association Regional Art Competition, held at Murray State University, with one student earning a spot in the state competition.

Edie Jones led the way for Marshall County, claiming 2nd place in Printmaking — a finish that qualifies her to advance to the state level of competition.

Four fellow students also placed in the Sculpture category: Kiera Clark earned 2nd place, Nick Severs took 3rd, and Donavan Watson received an Honorable Mention.

In Video/Film/Animation, Jesse MacKowey finished 2nd and Julianne Dowdy placed 3rd.

The regional competition draws student artists from across the area and evaluates their work across disciplines including sculpture, printmaking, and digital media. Entries are judged by art professionals and educators on creativity, technical skill, and artistic expression.
