(PADUCAH, Ky.)-On March 3, 2026, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations arrested a male and female for involvement in a multi-state theft ring. The investigation began when Homeland Security alerted the MCSO that the pair had just committed a theft from a home improvement store in Mayfield, KY.
Deputies and detectives were able to locate and stop the suspect’s vehicle on I24 just prior to the Ohio River bridge. During the stop, detectives identified the pair as Majkel Malinowski and Margarita Kaminska, both residents of Poland and in the United States illegally. While investigating, detectives located packaging and tape from a shipping company. Detectives continued the investigation by executing a search warrant at the shipping company and seizing a package that Malinowski and Kaminska had shipped immediately prior to being stopped. The package contained the stolen items, valued over $3,000, from the home improvement store.
Homeland Security also contacted the Chicago Police Department who quickly followed up on the investigation. It was determined that the stolen items were to be sent to a location in Chicago to two other individuals. This location had received multiple packages in 2026 from different regions of the USA, believed to be stolen items.
In conjunction with the home improvement store and Homeland Security, detectives determined that Kaminska and Malinowski had visited stores in Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio. It is believed that the couple were stealing from these locations and sending the stolen items to the location in Chicago.
Malinowski, 37 years old, and Kaminska, 36 years old, were lodged in the McCracken County Jail. They have been charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,000, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Engaging in Organized Crime. They both face charges for the theft in Graves County, KY.
