(Paducah, Ky.) (March 3, 2026)– The Merryman House Spiritual Enrichment Program invites you to attend the 5th Annual Nehemiah Project: Rebuilding Communities to Prevent Violence and Restoring Lives After Domestic Violence. The conference will be held on March 30 and 31 at the CFSB Community Room in Benton, Ky.

The Nehemiah Project is a community conference and training on domestic violence and is open to the community at large.

Day one of the conference will focus on the faith community and will be led by Pastor Chris Moles of PeaceWorks, Joy Forrest, and Neil Schori of Called to Peace Ministries. Day one offers inspiration, reflection, and practical guidance on faith-driven approaches to healing individuals, families, and communities. Attendees will receive practical instruction on the church’s response to both the victim and the abusive partner.

Day two is a multidisciplinary training led by Scott Hampton, PsyD, of Ending the Violence.  This training is designed for professionals, community leaders and all individuals who desire to know more about this critical issue. Attendees will gain actionable tools and evidence-based insights into the psychological patterns and motives behind abusive behavior while learning strategies to strengthen coordinated community responses.

“The goal of The Nehemiah Project is to help bring our communities and systems together to rebuild the [proverbial] walls to help those affected by domestic violence,” said Dr. Mary Foley, Merryman House Executive Director. “Attendees will get to hear from national trainers and leave with knowledge and practical steps and ways they can help survivors. I hope our communities will rebuild the walls so that together we can break the silence of domestic violence.”

Anyone is welcome to attend one or both days. Interested community members can find more information about the event and register at the event website at https://bit.ly/TNP2026.
