Malcolm Lynn Lane, 57 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born Sunday, June 2, 1968, in Murray, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Malcolm Lane and Janice Miller. He retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, assigned to Marshall County. He was the Foreman for several years. Lynn was an avid outdoorsman, gardening, hunting, fishing, and was the owner and operator of Hook, Line and Sinker Guide Service. Lynn was also a 15-year member of the Briensburg-TL Jefferson #401 F. & A. M. Lodge where he was elected Master in 2016, 2018, and 2022, as well as several other positions in the lodge over the years.
Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Misty Hopwood Lane; his mother, Janice Miller of Benton, KY; sisters, Julie Todd (Andy) of Calvert City, KY, Jacqueline Lewis (Drew) of Clarksville, TN, Ashley Henley (Sean) of Paducah, KY and Kirby Cornwell of Murray, KY; sons, Heath Lane (Jenna) of Benton, KY, Tevin Gregory (Haley) of Benton, KY, Tanner Gregory (Casey Gordon) of Benton, KY; daughter, Laken Womble (Jacob) of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Eris, Maggie, Sutton and Ledger.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 5 PM at Collier Funeral Hime Chapel with Rev. Tom Hiter officiating. Masonic Rites will be held at 5 PM prior to the funeral service.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 2 PM until 5 PM at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Street Benton, KY 42025. 270-527-3141.
