(MURRAY, Ky.) — A 25-year-old Murray man is facing serious federal charges after Kentucky State Police arrested him Thursday evening on charges related to child sexual abuse material.
Aiden Luke Santos was taken into custody at approximately 6:17 p.m. on February 26 following an undercover investigation by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch, which had identified Santos as allegedly sharing child sexual exploitation images online.
Investigators executed a search warrant at a Murray residence, seizing equipment believed to have been used in the commission of the crimes. That equipment has been transferred to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Santos now faces 20 felony counts in total — ten counts of distributing material depicting a minor under the age of 12 in a sexual performance, and ten counts of possessing such material. Each charge is classified as a Class C felony, carrying a potential sentence of five to ten years in prison per count. Santos was booked into the Calloway County Detention Center following his arrest.
The case was brought to light through the Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a coalition of more than 26 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The ICAC Task Force was established by the U.S. Department of Justice and is administered by Kentucky State Police, with a mission of combating online child exploitation through investigations, forensic support, victim services, and community education.
