
(EDDYVILLE, Ky.) — The Marshall County Marshals put together a strong effort in their regular season finale Friday night at Jason White Gymnasium, but Lyon County rallied in the second half to earn a 58-53 victory.
The Marshals found their footing after a slow start, overcoming a 14-11 first quarter deficit with a dominant second period to take a 33-21 halftime lead. Lyon County, however, refused to go away. The Lyons mounted a furious comeback in the third quarter, outscoring Marshall County to take a 43-40 lead into the fourth and eventually holding on for the five-point win.
Matthew Langhi was outstanding for the Marshals, pouring in a game-high 27 points. Neyland Jezik was solid in support with 12, while Ryan Stokes added 8. Braxton Burham chipped in 4 and Kaden Mohler rounded out the scoring with 2.
The Marshals (19-8) will open Fourth District Tournament play Monday night against Christian Fellowship (21-9) at Reed Conder Gymnasium.
