(DEXTER, Ky.) — A Dexter man with a prior felony record was arrested late Tuesday night after Calloway County deputies, working alongside Marshall County deputies, executed an indictment warrant at a residence on Purdom Road.

Michael J. Bucy, 49, was taken into custody around 10:00 p.m. on February 18 on a Calloway County Indictment Warrant that had been issued in December 2025. At the time of his arrest, deputies discovered he was in possession of multiple firearms and illicit drugs.

Bucy faces charges stemming from both the new arrest and the December indictment. From Tuesday’s arrest, he is charged with enhanced possession of methamphetamine — a third or subsequent offense — along with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia. The December indictment carries similar charges, including methamphetamine possession, handgun possession by a convicted felon, drug paraphernalia, and various traffic violations.

Because Bucy was previously convicted on drug-related charges in both 2009 and 2017, he is classified as a convicted felon, making his possession of firearms an additional felony offense.

He was booked into the Calloway County Detention Facility following his arrest.

Sheriff Nicky Knight’s office is asking anyone with knowledge of suspicious or criminal activity in the area to call 270-753-3151 or email ccso.office@callkyso.com.
