
(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.) — Two teenage boys were arrested in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 17, 2026, after deputies discovered vandalism to a statue at the Veterans Plaza inside Mike Miller Park.
McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the park at approximately 3:00 a.m. following a report of an all-terrain vehicle operating inside the park after hours. Upon arrival, deputies found that one of the statues at the Veterans Plaza had been vandalized.
While on scene, deputies heard a four-wheeler in the distance and moved to locate the vehicle. A brief foot pursuit followed before deputies successfully apprehended two male juveniles.
The suspects were identified as a 16-year-old from Paducah and a 17-year-old from Calvert City. Both juveniles were charged with criminal mischief in the first degree, a Class D felony; criminal trespassing in the second degree, a Class B misdemeanor; and fleeing or evading police in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Both juveniles were subsequently lodged at the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
