
(BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY, Ky.) — The Marshall County Lady Marshals held off Bowling Green in a defensive struggle Saturday afternoon, securing a 37-30 victory in the Vintage Classic.
Marshall County’s offense struggled to find rhythm throughout the contest, shooting just 31.8% from the field (14-of-44) and 23.8% from beyond the arc (5-of-21). Despite the shooting woes, the Lady Marshals converted 80% of their free throw attempts (4-of-5) and controlled the glass with 17 total rebounds.
Junior Kenzlee Terry led Marshall County’s scoring effort with 12 points on 4-of-17 shooting from the field, including 2-of-10 from three-point range. Terry also grabbed two rebounds and hit both of her free throw attempts.
Senior Addi Wall contributed eight points on an efficient 3-of-7 shooting performance, adding two rebounds and connecting on 2-of-3 free throws and was named Vintage Classic MVP.
Junior Rylan Darnall provided a spark with eight points, shooting 3-of-7 from the field and 2-of-3 from three-point range. Darnall led the team with three rebounds.
Senior Rylee Teague added five points on 2-of-6 shooting, while also pulling down three rebounds. Senior Lauren Noles chipped in four points on perfect 2-of-2 shooting from two-point range and secured three rebounds.
Sophomore Addley Poole and sophomore Jessica Reed rounded out the Lady Marshals’ rotation, with Reed attempting four shots and Poole contributing one rebound.
The victory improves Marshall County’s record to 18-4 and will play in Morton’s Gap against Hopkins County Central on Tuesday night.
