Marshall County Fiscal Court to Meet Tuesday Morning

(BENTON, Ky.) — The Marshall County Fiscal Court will convene for its regular meeting Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Marshall County Courthouse.

The meeting will begin with visits from the Marshall County Elks and a Marshall County High School AP Government class, giving students an opportunity to observe local government in action.

Key Agenda Items

Among the business items scheduled for consideration, the court will review an agreement between the Marshall County Road Department and the Department of Agriculture. Magistrates will also discuss new encroachment permit requirements that could affect future road projects.

The court plans to declare surplus property from the Parks Department and County Clerk’s office, and will authorize advertising for bids on mowing services for county properties. Bids for a Buckhorn Bay dock project are also on the agenda for review.

Other matters include discussion of Warnick Road, several board appointments, budget transfers, and routine approval of bills and December personnel changes.

The magistrates will also vote to approve minutes from their January 6th meeting.

Executive Session Planned

The court is expected to enter executive session to discuss pending litigation and personnel matters before adjourning. Executive sessions are closed to the public under Kentucky Open Meetings law when discussing specific exempted topics.
