(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.) — The Calloway County Lady Lakers extended their perfect season to 18-0 Tuesday night, defeating the Marshall County Lady Marshals 25-18 in Fourth District basketball action.
The victory improved Calloway County’s district record to 3-0, while Marshall County dropped to 11-3 overall and 2-1 in district play following the loss.
In the nightcap, the Marshall County boys avenged their counterparts’ defeat by downing visiting Calloway County 49-34. The win pushed the Marshals to 11-4 on the season and a perfect 3-0 in district competition. The Lakers fell to 7-10 overall and 1-3 in Fourth District play.
Marshall County will look to build on the boys’ victory when both teams travel to face Graves County on Friday night at the Eagles Nest. The girls’ game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m., with the boys’ contest to follow approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
