(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky.) — Nine Marshall County High School students have advanced to the state level of the Governor’s Scholars Program selection process, school officials announced this week.
The district completed its selection process and submitted applications to the state office, where candidates will undergo state-level scoring. Students are expected to receive notification of their status in April.
The Marshall County High School candidates advancing to state competition are Bailey Willis, Eli Holaday, Drake Fooshee, Lillian Perry, Jessamyn Barnes, Lyla Loven, Lilly Wathen, Sarah Reynolds, and Ayen Arceo.
The Governor’s Scholars Program is a prestigious academic summer program for outstanding high school students in Kentucky. The competitive selection process begins at the district level, where schools nominate their most qualified candidates before applications move forward to state-level review.
