(MILWAUKEE) — The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum marked National Bobblehead Day on Tuesday with the unveiling of new officially licensed bobbleheads featuring the mascots of two prominent Kentucky universities.
The limited-edition collection includes a pair of University of Kentucky Wildcats bobbleheads and three University of Louisville Cardinals bobbleheads, each individually numbered to only 2,025 pieces.
“We’re excited to be unveiling these new Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals bobbleheads in conjunction with National Bobblehead Day,” said Phil Sklar, co-founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. “We know how passionate Kentucky and Louisville alumni, fans, students, faculty, and staff are about their school and bobbleheads, so we expect these bobbleheads to be extremely popular.”
The bobbleheads are priced at $35 each, with a flat shipping rate of $8 per order. They are available for purchase through the museum’s online store. While The Wildcat bobblehead has already arrived and is shipping immediately, the Louisville Cardinals bobbleheads are scheduled to ship in January, and the Scratch bobblehead is expected to ship in May.
The University of Kentucky, founded in 1865 and located in Lexington, serves over 30,000 students and competes in the Southeastern Conference. The Wildcats have won eight NCAA basketball national championships and maintain one of college sports’ most passionate fan bases.
The University of Louisville, established in 1798 as the first city-owned public university in the United States, now serves over 22,000 students. The Cardinals compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference and have won three NCAA basketball championships.
National Bobblehead Day is celebrated annually on January 7th. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public in February 2019 and produces officially licensed bobbleheads for universities, organizations, and teams nationwide.
