(FRANKFORT, Ky.) — As the Constitution of Kentucky calls for convening the 2026 Legislative Session on Tuesday, January 6, in Frankfort, Sen. Danny Carroll, R-Paducah, of the 2nd Senate District, urges constituents to stay informed and engaged in the legislative process. The 2026 Legislative Session is a constitutionally required 60-day budget session, in which lawmakers will be required to implement a new two-year state spending and road plan. “I remain grateful for the opportunity to serve my district, and I’m looking forward to the session ahead,” Carroll said. “There’s so much that I believe lawmakers must step up and address in this upcoming budget session. Budget and policy decisions are never easy, but we must address critical issues in the state like Medicaid, early childhood education, juvenile justice, energy, and so many more; I want to see us back up our words with our actions in this next budget cycle, and I encourage everyone to be engaged in this process.” |
